Serie animata antologica pensata per i bambini e incentrata sui miti e le leggende metropolitane, Freaky Stories è una raccolta di puntate pensate per spaventare in cui si mescola il thriller con l'horror, il mistery con la comedy e la fantascienza.

La serie
Larry de Bug è uno scarafaggio ed è affiancato da Maurice il verme, il suo aiutante, sono in realtà du pupazzi animatronici e insieme raccontano le leggende metropolitane più assurde. Fa da sfondo il Ted's Diner, una tavola calda gestita da Rosie la cameriera. Al centro c'è l'idea di raccontare le classiche storie da falò per far spaventare. Ogni episodio inizia e si conclude con una frase: "Questa è una storia vera ed è successo a un amico di un mio amico". Senza dimenticare poi il commento di Larry de Bug che sottolinea che "solo perché non sono mai accadute, non significa che non siano vere". Ogni episodio è formato da almeno tre segmenti diversi.
